How to Sail in Trogir Dalmatia

Imagine sailing towards Trogir Bay, a historic Croatian city, on a sailboat, chartered luxury yacht or a catamaran. What a unique experience it would be!

Trogir is located on a small island between the mainland and the island of Ciovo. The sea is deep only 2 meters and that’s why it’s recommended to use the old stone bridge that is connecting the city to land.

Another bridge connects Trogir and Ciovo. The height of the passage from sea level is 2.80 meters. Boats that cannot pass under the bridge from the bay of Kastela must sail to the west side between the Croatian island of Ciovo and the Čelice rocks. The green lighthouse at the Čubrijan cape will help you find the way. If you come from the east, the red and green buoys will show you the sailing direction.

The beautiful coast of Trogir, in the middle of the summer season, is almost entirely reserved for mega yachts. You must announce to the Port Authority of your arrival at the port of Trogir one day in advance. For sailors with yachts or other boats under 25 meters, it is recommended to dock at the Trogir Marina, which is located on the north side of the Croatian island of Ciovo, just in front of the city.

Trogir has 174 berths at sea and 35 on land. All berths have water and electricity. Other facilities that the marina has are a restaurant, café-bar, reception with currency exchange, ATM, gym, rental agencies, service station, crane up to 9 tons and fuel station at the west end.

There is also an Agana Marina in the Trogir area. It is located on the west side of Trogir Bay, in the heart of the marina village 12 kilometres from Trogir. It has 120 piers for boats up to 25 meters in length. You can moor in the marina at the dock near the 16th-century tower, and anchor in the centre of the bay.

Under the fortified wall of Kamerlengo, all Trogir sleeps

The old town of this beautiful city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. Small streets, sacred objects that hide collections of masterpieces, palaces of noble families, towers and fortresses, of which Kamerlengo is the most famous, speak of the history of the city, due to the authentic Romanesque appearance.
This place is ideal if you want to enjoy the sea: 1.5 km east of the city is a sandy and pebble beach with majestic pine trees, and right next to it we find the beach of Kmarac (Mosquito), which is very popular among the young. But the prettiest and most popular beach on the Trogir Riviera is Okrug Gornji, located in the western part of the Croatian island of Ciovo, 2km from the centre.
